Why do we age and what we can do about it?

Updated: Jan 9, 2020

Sooner or later we all start noticing some changes on our faces. Unfortunately aging is inevitable for all of us, and every single client that comes to see me asks me: what can I do about it? People seem lost in all these variety of treatments available on the market, they want simple uncomplicated answer. Simply put, when it comes to aging, there are things we can control, and there are things we can’t. It’s impossible to stop the aging process, but it’s possible to slow it down and that’s when good Skincare and Estheticians come in handy. First factor of aging is genetics and we all agree that’s something we can’t control, at least not yet. Some even say: you want to know how you are going to age? Look at your mom and grandma. We can’t influence the DNA we were born with, as well as hormonal changes, autoimmune diseases, stress or pollution. That’s why uncontrollable factors of aging is not something that we widely discuss with clients, because there is not much we can do to help. Second factor that affects aging is a very popular topic: SUN EXPOSURE ☀️. Yes, sun is your skin’s enemy. Protect your skin from the sun if you want to stay young longer. Sun exposure causes skin dehydration, hyperpigmentation spots, broken capillaries, fine lines and wrinkles - these are all signs of premature aging and all these changes make you look much older than you actually are. Other things that affect aging and that are in your hands to change are healthy eating habits, drinking plenty of water, drinking less alcohol, saying no to smoking, getting enough sleep, applying moisturizer every day and having a proper skincare routine with good skincare products suitable for your skin type. Always remember: preventing is easier than treating, treating early is easier than treating late. Start before you see first signs of aging.
